UT Southwestern and Children’s Health secure $100 million for new pediatric campus

$100M gift from Pogue family to support new Dallas pediatric campus

Children’s Health and UT Southwestern Medical Center have received a generous $100 million gift from the Jean and Mack Pogue family in support of the new $5 billion Dallas pediatric campus. This donation, one of only four $100 million philanthropic gifts ever publicly announced in North Texas, is the largest contribution to the new pediatric campus project, which will replace the existing Children’s Medical Center Dallas.

The Pogue family’s gift will be commemorated by naming the 33-acre site for the new Dallas pediatric campus as Pogue Park. This park will provide green spaces designed to promote compassionate healing and reduce stress in a restorative environment for patients and families.

Over the past 40 years, the Pogue family has contributed more than $200 million to Children’s Health and UT Southwestern, supporting world-class scientific research and advancements in pediatric healthcare. With the pediatric population in the region expected to double by 2050, the need for exceptional pediatric healthcare is greater than ever.

Dr. Daniel Podolsky, president of UT Southwestern Medical Center, emphasized the impact of the Pogue family’s philanthropy on advancing research with a focus on children. The new pediatric campus will provide cutting-edge care for children in North Texas and beyond, thanks to the support of donors like the Pogue family.

The new Dallas pediatric campus, unveiled earlier this year, will serve as a hub for innovation, academic research, training, and the development of life-saving technologies in Dallas. This collaborative effort between Children’s Health and UT Southwestern aims to meet the growing healthcare needs of the pediatric population in the region.

The Pogue family’s generous gift will leave a lasting legacy in the form of Pogue Park, a symbol of their commitment to improving pediatric healthcare and making a difference in the lives of future generations of children.
