Cause of the tragic fire at Baby Care New Born Hospital in Delhi’s Vivek Vihar resulting in the death of 7 babies

News: Fire at Baby Care New Born Hospital in Delhi’s Vivek Vihar claims lives of six babies

The tragic incident at Baby Care New Born Hospital in Delhi’s Vivek Vihar has left the nation in shock as six babies lost their lives in a devastating fire. Delhi Fire Department Director Atul Garg suspects an “electric fault” to be the possible reason behind the fire that took the lives of these innocent newborns.

Garg mentioned that the investigation is ongoing, and more details will be revealed after analyzing videos and statements from eyewitnesses. He also highlighted the lack of a second exit or easy access, stating that more babies could have been saved if there had been proper guidance and information available during the emergency.

The Delhi Police also pointed out major lapses that contributed to the tragic incident. The hospital was operating with an invalid license, had no emergency or fire exit system, exceeded the permitted number of beds, and employed doctors who were not qualified to treat newborns in need of critical care.

Two individuals, Dr. Naveen Khichi and Dr. Akash, have been arrested in connection with the fire incident. The police have added Sections 304 and 308 of the Indian Penal Code in the FIR, and investigations are ongoing.

In response to the incident, Delhi Health Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj announced that fire safety equipment will now be made compulsory in every hospital, regardless of its size. This decision aims to prevent such tragedies in the future and ensure the safety of patients and staff.

The heartbreaking incident has raised concerns about the safety standards in healthcare facilities, prompting authorities to take necessary measures to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
