Lockdown Status Lifted at Collingsworth General Hospital and Wellington ISD Campuses
The small community of Collingsworth County, Texas was on high alert on Monday morning as both the local hospital and school district entered lockdown statuses after being made aware of a possible threat by local officials.
According to reports from Wellington Independent School District and Collingsworth General Hospital, the school district and healthcare centers in the area took precautionary measures in response to the threat. Wellington ISD announced that the Collingsworth County Sheriff’s Office notified district officials of a threat involving other entities in town, prompting the campuses to enter a “Secure Lockout” status with no one allowed inside any campus location.
Similarly, Collingsworth General Hospital and Collingsworth Family Medicine were also alerted by the sheriff’s office of the potential threat and entered a lockdown status, with no entry or exit permitted until cleared by authorities.
While details about the nature of the threat were not immediately available, the situation is currently under investigation by local law enforcement.
