Michigan COVID-19 Update: Cases, Positivity Rate, and Coronavirus Numbers

Michigan COVID-19 Cases and Deaths Update: Tuesday, April 9

Michigan public health officials reported a stable number of COVID-19 cases and a decrease in deaths for the week ending Tuesday, April 9. The state reported 1,458 confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases, slightly down from the previous week’s 1,463 cases. Additionally, there were 30 fewer deaths reported, down from 36 the week before.

The number of confirmed COVID-19-positive hospital patients also decreased to 233, down from 247 a week earlier. Experts caution that the state-reported cases may be an undercount due to factors such as people no longer testing when symptomatic or relying on home tests.

Despite the slight decrease in cases and deaths, the overall trend remains stable. This news comes as a positive sign for Michigan as it continues to navigate the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
