Australian rushes home after being stabbed in Fiji

Australian Man Fighting for Life After Stab Wound on Fijian Holiday

Australian man Clayton Brett is fighting for his life in a hospital in Fiji after being stabbed in the stomach on the day he was supposed to fly home from his holiday. The 43-year-old was set to board his flight on May 1 but instead found himself in a hospital with a severe infection that led to septic shock.

His family, including his parents, stepbrother, and cousin, became worried when Clayton didn’t return home as planned and wasn’t answering their calls. They eventually discovered that he was in a hospital in Nadi with a stab wound to his stomach.

Clayton’s condition quickly deteriorated, and he was put into an induced coma in the intensive care unit. His parents rushed to Fiji to be by his side and made the difficult decision to fly him back to Australia for further treatment, as the hospital in Nadi didn’t have a functioning dialysis machine for his failing kidneys.

In a desperate attempt to cover the costs of the medevac flight and medical expenses, Clayton’s stepbrother, Matthew Davis, set up a GoFundMe page to help alleviate the financial burden on the family. The fundraiser aims to support Clayton’s parents, Terry and Jenny, as they navigate this challenging and stressful situation.

Clayton is expected to arrive in Melbourne on Friday, and his family is hopeful for a successful journey back home. The community has rallied behind the family, offering support and well wishes for Clayton’s recovery.
