BayCare Health System Announces Plans for New $548 Million Hospital in Manatee County

BayCare Health System announced plans for a new $548 million hospital in Manatee County, marking its first facility in the area. The 154-bed BayCare Hospital Manatee will be located on Moccasin Wallow Road, providing essential services to residents in the fast-growing region north of the I-75 and I-275 intersection.

The state-of-the-art hospital will offer a range of medical services, including emergency care, orthopedic and specialty surgery, urology, gastroenterology, cardiology, imaging, obstetrics, and neonatology. Additionally, the facility will feature a 45,000-square-foot building for outpatient services and physician offices.

Construction is set to begin in October, with BayCare president and CEO Stephanie Conners expressing excitement about expanding their commitment to the community. She stated, “As West Central Florida continues to grow and thrive, we are committed to investing in our communities to bring high-quality and compassionate care closer to our residents.”

This new hospital will be the first nonprofit-owned facility in Manatee County, distinguishing it from other hospitals in the area. BayCare’s decision to build in this location reflects their dedication to meeting the healthcare needs of rapidly expanding communities in the Tampa Bay area.

With the opening of BayCare Hospital Manatee, residents will have access to advanced medical care in a convenient location, further enhancing the region’s healthcare infrastructure. This development underscores BayCare’s mission to provide exceptional healthcare services to the growing population in and around Tampa Bay.
