Recent Arrest Made in Connection with Deadly Eastgate Shooting in Chattanooga

Chattanooga police have made an arrest in connection with a deadly shooting at Eastgate. 26-year-old Tampari Chanity Upshaw has been taken into custody after surveillance video showed two individuals exiting a black Hyundai Tucson and shooting the victim multiple times. A third suspect standing by the car also fired additional shots before the car was found on fire just minutes after the incident.

Upshaw has admitted to being the driver of the car and waiting on the suspects involved in the homicide. She is now facing charges of accessory after the fact. The identities of the other suspects have not yet been released.

The victim, a 27-year-old man, was targeted in the shooting and later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. The Chattanooga Police Department is urging anyone with information to come forward and contact their Homicide Tip Line at 423-643-5100.
