Salem Memorial Hospital Welcomes New CEO and CFO

Salem Memorial Hospital has announced the appointment of Brooke Bollman as Chief Executive Officer and Kayla Chamberlain as Chief Financial Officer. Bollman, who will join the hospital on July 1, 2024, brings with her impressive healthcare leadership experience, while Chamberlain, who started on May 1, 2024, has a solid background in senior leadership and hospital finance.

“We are thrilled to welcome Brooke and Kayla as the new CEO and CFO of Salem Memorial Hospital,” said Mike Swyers, Chairman of the Board of Directors. “Brooke and Kayla have strong backgrounds in Critical Access Hospital accounting, hospital operations, and strategic innovation making them exceptionally qualified to lead our organization into the future.”

Prior to joining Salem Memorial, Bollman served as CEO for Caldwell Regional Medical Center in Kansas, where she successfully spearheaded initiatives to improve patient satisfaction, enhance operational efficiency, and drive financial growth. Chamberlain, on the other hand, served as the Chief Financial Officer for Iron County Medical Center in Pilot Knob, Mo. Chamberlain holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Southeast Missouri State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Central Methodist University. She also holds the Rural Hospital CFO Certification, certified by the National Rural Health Association (NRHA).

Chamberlain also expressed her excitement about joining the team, stating, “I am excited to join Salem Memorial Hospital’s team and I look forward to being an integral part of developing a roadmap for financial sustainability at the facility. The citizens of Dent County and surrounding counties rely heavily on Salem Memorial Hospital and the quality care the facility provides. The dedication the SMH team has shown in keeping the facility open, to serve the community, is commendable; I am honored to join the team for this worthy cause.”

In other news, Chief Nursing Officer, Ashley Owen, has submitted her resignation effective May 31, 2024. The CNO position is now open for applications online at www.SMDH.net or resumes can be submitted to Jennifer Hugenot, HR Director.
