Installation of Automatic Fire Alarm System in Mykolaiv City Hospital No. 3
Mykolaiv City Hospital No. 3 to Install Automatic Fire Alarm System
In a bid to enhance safety measures, Mykolaiv City Hospital No. 3 is set to install an automatic fire alarm and notification system. The project, estimated to cost 12.2 million hryvnias, is currently in the procurement phase, as reported by NikVesti.
The Department of Capital Construction of the Mykolaiv City Council is overseeing the project, with the deadline for completion set for May 31, 2025. The tender process for selecting a contractor is ongoing, and the decision is expected to be made after June 5, 2023.
This initiative comes in the wake of efforts to improve healthcare facilities in the region. In 2024, the reception department of Mykolaiv City Hospital No. 3 is scheduled for renovation, as part of plans to establish a cluster hospital. Cluster hospitals aim to provide comprehensive medical services for common diseases.
However, the healthcare sector in Mykolaiv has faced challenges, including inadequate conditions in hospitals and allegations of corruption. Following criticism from President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, repairs were initiated at the Mykolaiv Regional Children’s Hospital, and personnel changes were made in response to corruption allegations in the regional mental health center.
Moreover, budget constraints have led to reductions in staffing at healthcare facilities, raising concerns about the impact on service quality. Despite assurances from officials, reports indicate that healthcare workers have faced wage cuts and staffing shortages, affecting the delivery of care.
As efforts continue to address these issues and improve healthcare services in Mykolaiv, the installation of the automatic fire alarm system at City Hospital No. 3 represents a step towards ensuring the safety and well-being of patients and staff.
