Arrest of Pune Doctors in Porsche Crash Case: Blood Sample Manipulation Allegations

Two doctors from Pune’s Sassoon General Hospital have been arrested in connection with the Porsche crash case involving a 17-year-old boy. Dr. Ajay Taware, head of the forensic department, and Dr. Shrihari Harnor, the chief medical officer of Sassoon, were arrested on charges of manipulating a blood sample related to the case.

According to a senior police official, the doctors are accused of manipulating the blood samples and destroying evidence in the case. It was reported that the juvenile’s blood sample was thrown into a dustbin, and another person’s sample was replaced with it.

The incident in question occurred on May 19, when two IT professionals died in a motorcycle accident involving a speeding Porsche allegedly driven by the minor. The police claim that the teenager was intoxicated at the time of the accident. Initially granted bail, public outcry and a police review led to the minor being placed in an observation home until June 5.

In a shocking twist, the Pune police also arrested the grandfather of the boy, alleging that both the teenager’s father and grandfather pressured the family’s driver to take the blame for the accident by offering money and making threats. The teenager’s grandfather, Surendra Agarwal, was arrested for ‘illegal confinement’ of the driver, while the minor’s father, already in judicial custody in another case related to the accident, was also named in the First Information Report.

The Pune Police Commissioner revealed that the driver initially claimed to be at the wheel during the accident, but it was later discovered that the teen was actually driving the car. Reports also surfaced that the teen’s mother urged the family’s driver to take the blame.

Additionally, the Pune cyber police have registered an offense over a viral rap video in which the teenager was seen boasting about the car crash. However, the police clarified that the video was fake.
