UN ‘shocked’ by discovery of over 300 bodies in mass grave at Nasser Hospital in Gaza

Live Updates: Latest Developments in Israel-Gaza Conflict

The conflict between Israel and Gaza has taken a disturbing turn as reports of mass graves at a major hospital in Khan Younis have shocked the world. UN officials expressed horror at the discovery of bodies stripped naked with their hands tied at Nasser Hospital.

Civil defence teams in Gaza have found hundreds of bodies at the hospital, with the total count reaching 310. The director of civil defence in Khan Younis, Yamen Abu Suleiman, stated that they are unsure if the bodies were buried alive or executed, as most of them are decomposed.

The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Turk, called for an independent investigation into the killings at Nasser Hospital and Al Shifa Hospital. The intentional killing of civilians is considered a war crime, according to Mr. Turk.

Israel has denied the claims of burying bodies, stating that they were examining bodies previously buried by Palestinians near the hospital. The US has called the scenes deeply concerning, but the White House is unable to confirm their veracity at this time.

As the conflict continues, the death toll rises, with over 34,200 Palestinians killed and 77,143 wounded since the war began. The situation remains dire as air strikes and shelling persist across the enclave, causing further destruction and loss of life.

The world watches in horror as the conflict shows no signs of abating, with both sides continuing to suffer devastating consequences. The need for a peaceful resolution becomes more urgent as the violence escalates.
